A Plastic Surgeon Focused on the Male Physique
For more than 30 years, Dr. Jonathan Lebowitz has built his career around plastic and cosmetic surgery with a particular focus on gynecomastia, male chest contouring and advanced body sculpting.
Men from across the United States and around the world travel to Huntington, New York for an individualized approach designed around male anatomy, proportion and definition.

Experience Built on a Strong Surgical Foundation
Dr. Lebowitz graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, and continued his surgical training through fellowships in plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
Over the decades that followed, his work increasingly centered on the details that matter in male cosmetic surgery: chest shape, muscular definition, body proportion, skin quality and the transitions between treated areas.

30+ Years of Experience
Decades of clinical experience have allowed Dr. Lebowitz to continually refine how he approaches male chest and body contouring.
Not Simply Removing Fat. Sculpting the Male Form.
Male body contouring requires more than making an area smaller. Dr. Lebowitz approaches the body in terms of shape, proportion, muscular anatomy and how one region transitions into the next.
With gynecomastia, that may mean evaluating glandular tissue, chest fat, nipple position and the underlying pectoral contour. With body sculpting, it may involve defining the abdomen, waist, flanks, back, arms or other areas in a way that works with the patient’s existing muscular structure.
The goal is not to impose the same look on every patient. Dr. Lebowitz develops the surgical plan around the anatomy that is actually there and the physique the patient is trying to create.
Start With the Contour You Want to Create
Dr. Lebowitz’s planning begins with a different question than simply, “What can be removed?” He considers the contour he wants to create and then determines which techniques may be appropriate to produce that shape.
Reduce
Address unwanted fat or fullness where it interferes with the desired contour.
Remove
When gynecomastia gland is present, direct excision may be needed rather than relying on liposuction alone.
Define
Use strategic sculpting to bring greater visibility to the underlying muscular anatomy and natural transitions.
Tighten
When appropriate, skin and soft-tissue laxity can be considered as part of the overall body-contouring plan.
Add
Fat grafting may be used selectively when additional volume could improve proportion or enhance a specific contour.
Refine
Reassess the relationship between treated areas so the final plan works as one connected physique.
Local Anesthesia Can Become Part of the Sculpting Process
For appropriately selected patients and procedures, Dr. Lebowitz performs surgery with the patient awake under local anesthesia in his private Huntington surgical setting.
Because the patient remains responsive, Dr. Lebowitz can ask him to reposition his arms, twist, turn, flex and contract specific muscle groups while the contour is being evaluated.
This gives Dr. Lebowitz the opportunity to assess the developing result dynamically rather than viewing the body in only one static position. Movement and muscular contraction can help reveal how the skin, remaining tissue and underlying anatomy interact as he continues to refine the contour.
